New Art Challenge - Draw 180

Greetings everyone!

Here's one of the latest pages of my sketchbook (ads from the mail) – a bit more realistic than my normal style – with gouache and graphite. I'm working on an additional art challenge to the Tiny Treasure art challenge. I've dubbed this one Draw 180. It's simple - I'm drawing consecutively for 180 days. My guidelines are also simple; I am free to choose the medium, size and subject. (And, yes I am tracking on a chart!) This challenge will cease the first week of INKTOBER 2019.

This ol' gal is taking a walk from her never-ending (so it seems) cottage. There is a kitten held captive!

Story Book Character "Try-Out"

Original Character - Bunny with Native Heritage

I've been hesitant to create large works of art with my set of Derwent Inktense Watercolor Pencils because they dry permanent; I cannot re-wet and lift color with tissue.

Recently, I have been creating small pieces of art for the "Tiny Treasure" challenge. I thought it would be a fabulous idea to explore one of my characters from a book I'm working on and get to know the Inktense pencils simultaneously.

So, I introduce to you two designs of the sweet rabbit in my book. (Indeed, he has Native American Ojibwe heritage!)

Reading-Rabbit Watercolor

GoodReads Profile Watercolor Illustration

I wanted to create a fun profile image for my goodreads account. What is more fun than a bunny who reads! It's also small enough to qualify for the Tiny Treasures art challenge.
